A Laborer in the landscaping industry is responsible for the physical labor involved in landscaping work. Their duties typically include mowing lawns, trimming trees and shrubs, planting flowers, applying pesticides and fertilizers, and maintaining gardens. They may also be responsible for tasks such as installing sprinkler systems or laying sod. A Laborer must be physically fit and capable of doing heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and working in various weather conditions. They must also have a good understanding of plants and their care, as well as the ability to operate and maintain various landscaping tools and equipment.
There are no specific certifications required for a Landscaping Laborer, but having a Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) or a Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH) accreditation could be advantageous. These certifications can demonstrate a higher level of knowledge and expertise in the landscaping field. Experience in a related field is beneficial.
