Interior Plant Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a member of the Horticulture and Grounds Maintenance team, Interior Plant Tech I will help create and maintain interior plant displays with the Horticulture staff. The ideal candidate is passionate about bringing the beauty of the outdoors inside. The property is the first thing our guests see; therefore, it is necessary that the first impression sets the stage for the enjoyment of our guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Able and willing to perform any task necessary for the maintenance of the resort grounds.
• Drives and operates golf carts, truck, mowers, transports materials and supplies around property.
• Maintain plants indoors in a formal hotel environment.
• Assist with interior horticulture installations and maintenance
• Communicate with direct supervisor any issues regarding the resorts interior plant material.
• Use and maintain all hand tools necessary for plant maintenance.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties and follow specific directions
• Complete assigned tasks within allotted time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• High school degree or equivalent is required
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or needs of staff members and guests.
• Ability to work efficiently and prioritize multiple assignments.
• Must be task and detail-oriented while being able to see the big picture.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, bend and reach in odd directions.
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours at a time.
• Must be able to speak the English language fluently.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, nights, evenings and holidays.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as through previous experience in a landscaping or grounds maintenance position.
