Columbia Grounds Management, Inc., a Howard County based full service commercial landscape maintenance and snow removal company established in 1979, is seeking a reliable individual to provide high quality turf and ornamental treatments and IPM services to our customers. Responsibilities -
This role involves handling and applying chemical treatments, maintaining equipment, and ensuring adherance to safety and environmental guidelines
The technician will collaborate with the landscape team to ensure integrated pest management and client satisfaction
Applying pesticides in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and label instructions
Educating clients in pest management and landscape health practices
Staying current with industry best practices and maintaining licensure
Reporting any safety incidents or concerns to management
Performing other related duties as assigned
Qualifications -
1-3 years experience
Must possess a valid Pesticide Applicator License in DC, MD & VA
Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record
Knowedge of local pest species, landscape plants, and applicable safety precautions
Ability to work independently and manage daily activities according to the work schedule
Effective communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to understand, follow and convery written and oral instructions
Consistent dependability in attendance and reliability
Proficiency in the use and maintenance of equipment and tools
PHYSCIAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT -
Frequently will need to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
Employee must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing at least 25 lbs and up to 50 lbs
The position demands excellent stamina for prolonged physical activity and exposure to outdoor environments
